Rebecca Steele's work morphs the boundaries of lens_based photography and the sculptural properties of physical space to create images that fluctuate between image/object and dimension/scale . For her exhibition at Basketshop, Steele invokes the vessel form of a Greek Column-Krater for these qualities as well a personal connection to her own family lineage.

Steele lives and works in Cincinnati where she is involved in many projects including the artist run gallery Anytime Dept. with co-director Lydia Rosenberg as well as being a founder for the Cincinnati Art Book Fair
